The Firsts beat Belmullet Town 4-1 in a first meeting of the two sides. Belmullet set the pace within the first ten minutes when a neat move down their flank was headed in at the far post to give the lead. The Dragons remained unruffled and pulled themselves together with early substitution due to injury. The equaliser came from a swift counter attack and a square pass into the box to score. The Dragons second goal came from what looked to be a speculative 30 yards shot that kicked up in front to beat Bellmullet's keeper. With the Dragons in the driving seat the game became more of how many would they win by rather than if. Though there were moments of madness at the back Dragons found themselves guilty of missing many opportunities to close the game out. Finally the ball was controlled neatly in the box from a corner to score and then the final goal came from breaking the off-side trap and a composed finish. Read more

With the icy grip of winter upon us the Dragons did their best in variable circumstances:
The U12's walloped Yeading Wanderers 7-0 at St Marks in a great start to the New Year. The Dragons dominated from start to finish but, despite repeatedly getting in behind Yeading's defence, could only make it 2-0 up at half time. The second half was much of the same except the Dragons finishing was more clinical and with 5 good finishes completed a stunning victory. Special mention must be given to the defence who were superb and richly deserved the clean sheet. Read more

Undefeated – again! It is now over month since any team anywhere beat any of the eight Kensington Dragons Teams:
The Firsts beat Northwood 6-3 to reach the quarter finals of the Cup. The game started brightly with a run from 25 yards out driving at the defence before cutting inside and cutely curling the ball into the corner of Northwood's goal. The early dominance was not to last as the Dragons failed to clear from a set piece and were duly punished. The Dragons were jolted into life to come back with four unanswered goals in a 15 minute spell and at 5-1 were coasting. Complacency together with a poor referee lead to two penalties to make it 5-3 at the break. The task for the second period was quite simply to not concede. When the Dragons scored again it looked like the job was complete, only for the referee to decide a little more drama was needed and gave a third penalty to a surprised Northwood. Justice prevailed as the spot kick was blazed over the bar to send the Dragons into the Quarter finals to face Imperial College Old Boys. Read more

Undefeated – again! Cold hearted statisticians will want to make allowance for most games being postponed but those of a more cheerful disposition will focus on those Dragons teams that did brave the chilly winter elements to return home winners:
The U14's beat Magix FC 6-0 at home. The Management's policy is one of an unremitting drive to keep going and the U14's bounce back from the footballing depths in the Middlesex Cup two weeks ago continued with another win. The Dragons dominated from start to finish. There was even room for one repentant sinner to return to the Dragons fold and having tried to look interested in the customary motivational talk, went on to smash in two goals. The squad ended the day in high spirits plotting for bigger things in the New Year.
The Firsts beat second placed FC Assyria 4-2 at home in a great result to match last weekend's win against the league leaders. The Dragons early play emphasised their determination with good ball retention and stern defending which was hard for Assyria to deal with. A one on one in the box bamboozled their defence to win a converted Dragons penalty. Dragons had more to offer and the increased energy from midfield with sharp combinations from the forwards was again difficult for Assyria to contain. Another good Dragons move lead to a ricochet off a defender going into the net to make it 2-0 at half time. The Dragons strength in recent weeks has been the quality of the squad and this was highlighted when the promoted reserve striker hit a sweet half volley from a lofted pass to give the Assyria keeper no chance. The quality of the play remained high and a sweeping move lead to a cross forcing the Assyrian defender to push a Dragon player over and give the referee no choice but to award a second converted penalty. Assyria put in a late rally to score two goals but the result was never in doubt and one point now separates the Dragons from second place – there is much to look forward to the New Year.
There were no other Dragons games. Happy Christmas. We will be back in the New Year.

Undefeated! From the little U12's taking their first tentative footballing steps to the knurled veterans in the Firsts the Dragons stood firm against all comers:
The Firsts beat divisional leaders LPOSSA 2-0 away in a crucial game. The game started competitively with both sides hitting the posts. At half time it was still 0-0 and both sides regrouped to prepare for the next assault. LPOSSA almost found the opening when a looping shot was held in the wind to deceive the debutant Dragons goalie but then hit the bar to enable the Dragons to clear their line. Like two boxers going toe-to-toe the Dragons came back with a blow and good combination play in the middle culminated in a toe poke finish. The Dragons were on top and their football looked more controlled, creating the better scoring opportunities whilst LPOSSA in turn piled on the pressure. The Dragons response of changing their formation and bringing on a substitute proved vital as the better shape allowed the Dragons to pressurise LPOSSA's defence and slot the ball past their keeper to seal an impressive win. The Firsts beat HFC 2-0. After last week's loss a quick response was needed to ensure the push for promotion was still possible. HFC had snatched a draw in the reverse fixture so the threat was there if the Dragons did not perform. They started well creating a host of half chances and just as HFC started to get to grips with the game a Dragons counter attack down the right lead to a simple header to open the scoring. The second half lacked the flow of the first and though both sides hinted at scoring from open play it was only a Dragons free kick that missed everyone to nestle in the net and give Dragons the final result. A gusty dry day saw the wind interfere with some of the precision of some Dragons football:
The U18's beat Pitshanger Dynamo 5-3 away. The Dragons arrived in jovial spirit and started brightly with crisp pass and move football against a big, powerful Pitshanger that had won 8-0 the previous week. The Dragons finally got their reward when the referee awarded a spot kick. The Pitshanger coaches were in the middle of congratulating the Dragons staff on a super performance when the game dramatically swung in the 3 minutes before half time when from a long throw and a slip it was somehow 1-2 to Pitshanger. The Dragons were shell shocked but with a look of steely determination returned to the pitch with a focus yet to be seen this season. The second half was simply mesmeric and it took just 6 minutes to regain the lead through a left foot volley and a brave finish after a challenge with the enormous keeper. After more scintillating play down the left came the goal of the game. The fullback and winger interlinked with the penalty scorer who then danced past 4 defenders rolling it to the right winger who dummied for the onrushing centre midfielder to smash into the top corner. It was 5 shortly after with a deserved hatrick from the attacking midfielder. A late hotly disputed penalty gave Pitshanger a late consolation. Read more
