Adults Latest News & Results

Saturday 16th November Result:

Adults Match Reports:

The Adults first team drew 1-1 with West London Saracens and remain unbeaten. After a good warm up, the highly motivated Dragons had to wait half an hour for the opposition who arrived late. The physical Saracens had the advantage on the sticky pitch and the Dragons lost patience, team shape and were punished to make it 0-1 to the Saracens. The Dragons regrouped at half time and scored after just 50 seconds into the half. Both sides then played exceptional, hard, competitive good football but neither could score. The final result of 1-1 was fair result as both teams did not deserved to lose.

The Adult's reserves beat Imperial College 2-1 in a well deserved win. The Dragons got off to a patchy start and were reduced to 10 men at the start with one player going to the wrong ground. At the half it was 1-0 to the Dragons and then 2-0 before Imperial were awarded a penalty to get a consolation goal. A great result for the Reserves who play a vital part in the club's development.

Saturday 08th November Result:

Adults Match Reports:

Dragon’s adult first team were drawn an away cup game against Imperial College Old Boys in the 2nd round of the Middlesex County Football League Junior Open Cup.

After an early missed chance to score a goal, young Dragons got punished by the experienced opposition team who scored from a counter attack. After 10 minutes of constant attack, Dragons scored a brilliant goal.

Opposition team scored another goal but Dragons didn’t want to skip their turn as Dragons striker scored his second goal equalising the result.

During the 2nd half Dragons were better team creating many chances before striker deserved his first hat-trick taking Dragons into the third round of the cup. Final score 3-2 to Dragons F.C.

The New Adult Reserves just lost 1-2 to CB Hounslow in their best performance to date. The Dragons had 80% of the possession but just could not score more than 1 goal. It was 1-1 to within seconds of the final whistle when Hounslow scored with a run away goal against the run of play.

Saturday 01st November Result:

Adults Match Reports:

The Adults First Team beat the previously unbeaten British Airways 4:2 to go through to the 3rd round of the Middlesex County Cup. The Dragons thought themselves unlucky to be drawn against last year's winners of the League and Cup but they faced up to the challenge with courage and determination. BA scored first but the Dragons fought back and after 7 minutes equalized and then went ahead to make it 2-1 at the half. Knowing that the best way to defend is to attack the Dragons pushed forward and scored again. The experienced opposition goalkeeper saved BA from a catastrophe. Finally minutes before the end Dragons scored a 4th goal before relaxing and letting BA score a consolation goal in the last minute. A tremendous win - especially for a new side.

The Reserve Adults lost away to Feltham in the same Cup competition

Saturday 25th October Result:

Adults Match Reports:

Adult first team had no match.

The Reserve Adults drew 3-3 with league leaders Brenthem in a result demonstrating the huge strides the Dragons are making in their first season. The Dragon Reserves had been beaten 2-9 in their first match of the season but were unlucky not to win in the rematch. At half time it was 2-2 and at the 88th minute 3-3 when Brenthem were awarded a penalty only to have the heroic Dragon keeper save it to secure the draw.

Saturday 18th October Result:

Adults Match Reports:

The Adults 1st team beat Eutectic FC 4-2. In an even game between 2 undefeated teams the Dragons won their 4th game in a row to climb to the top of the league table. After many chances at both ends Eutectic showed more maturity and scored just 8 minutes from the break. The Dragons immediately piled on the pressure and scored from a deserved penalty kick. After the break the Dragons set a  more attacking formation which lead to them pulling ahead to 3-1. The experienced Eutectic players managed to reduced the lead but the Dragons refused to panic and eventually secured a fourth goal to win 4-2.

The Adult Reserves lost 3-1 away against Hillingdon Reserves in a match which could have been won with a different interpretation of the rules by the referee.

Saturday 11th October Result:

Adults Match Reports:

Adult first team started the game very nervous conceding goal in less than five minutes. As usual, young Dragon’s players missed many goal scoring opportunities before they conceded second goal.

Referee decided before the game to not give a penalty kick for any team, regardless what happen in the penalty box. We should have four and opposition team should have one penalty kick. Even very honest opposition team linesman asked referee to give a penalty to us.

Dragons never lost believe that they could turn the game around, and they scored goal just before the half time to reduce result to 2 - 1.

In second half of the game Dragons players totally outplayed opposition team scoring two goals to win the game 3 – 2.

This is the great result in an away game against our (in the past) undefeated title rival “Horseed”.

The Adult depleted reserves lost by more than planned to CB Hounslow Reserves in the Middlesex County Youth Cup. Again it is early days but clearly the Reserves are a vital component of the Dragons and encouragement needs to be applied to make full use of the players available.

Saturday 4th October Result:

Adults Match Reports:

The Adults first team beat AMU 4-0 in the first round of the MCFA Junior Open Cup. In a very open game, both teams played very attractive football and created numerous chances at both ends. The Dragons scored a well earned goal in the first half and then again in the fifth minute of the second half. AMU tried their best to reduce the lead but the young Dragons selection kept a disciplined playing formation and scored two more goals and won with confidence.

Saturday 27th September Result:

Adults Match Reports:

As the Middlesex county league made a mistake giving two fixtures to the reserve team and no fixture for the 1st team, we had a difficult task to decide where to play our best squad. As the most crucial information about the cup competition arrived late Friday evening, we decided to create a new strategy:

Whilst the reserve team was blessed to draw an easier opponent (Eutectic F.C) in the first cup round, the first team was unlucky with the draw as they have to face last years cup title holders (British Airways F.C) in the cup on 1st November.

As the first team fixture looks as if David v Goliath will battle it out, we decided to try to progress with a strong reserve team against a weaker opposition with hope for a lucky draw in the next round.

The strategy worked well as “Kensington Dragons Reserve F.C” (cup game selections) beat “Eutectic F.C”   2 – 1

Kensington Dragons Reserve F.C (league game selection) played against Renegades Reserve FC Young Kensington Dragons Reserve team played against Renegade first team (Middlesex County Division Two team) as their Cup game against Horseed was postponed.

The Kensington Dragons young inexperienced players started the game very well against strong and physical Renegade player’s dominating the first half missing half-a-dozen scoring opportunities. Also in second half, the Dragons started well, unable to beat the Renegades keeper who was man of the match. Unfortunately you cannot win the game on statistics; you must win by scoring more goals than opposition team.

Punishment came ten minutes before the end of the game after a defensive error which resulted to a 1:0 fall back. The Dragons continued to press however, two minutes later the opposition player scored another goal from an obvious offside position. Heads were turned down and the young Dragons conceded another goal. Overall young Dragons conceded 3 goals in 5 minutes.

Saturday 20st September Result:

Adults First Team Match Report:

With the Reserve team playing their first game of the season and the
1sts playing at home, the Adults' squad was spread thinnner than a
Horton hairline with both a 3pm KO (fortunately) at grounds on the opposite side of the A40.

Hanworth Villa were the visiting team and with an entourage of friends
and family in support expecting an away victory on their opening game of the season, Dragons were finding it tough to hold it all together a mere 10 mins before kick off as the final team was announced. A quick warm up and the game begun at a frantic pace with a confident Hanworth showing desire and skill to put the Dragons under pressure for much of the opening 20 mins. However, with Lamelle Williams impecably running a solo front line, chances were soon created with Lamelle in particular using his blistering pace to beat the offside trap and force thier keeper into the first saves of the match.

A physically even contest saw first blood to Dragons as 'Little' Jon Hoffman burst out of defense on a mazy run up the wing before squaring for Captain Luke O'Donoghue to tuck away his first of the season. Almost straight from the kick off, a dazed Hanworth foolishly
gave the ball away to promising new recruit Mike Manuel Woollacott who gave his new team a glimpse of the exciting things to come by nestling the ball in the top corner from a mere 40 yards.

2-0. Hanworth battled on with Lamelle and Central Midfielder Andrew Scheck on the end of several hefty challenges and it was a rare slip of the offside trap which saw Villa's first real chance on goal with their
forward clear through and only Todd Von Joel to beat, he smashed it home only to find our keeper in fine early season form acrobatically tipping a certain goal over the bar.

Dragons dominated the remainder of the half with only a flag happy
linesman preventing further clear cut chances as the ever threatening
front line sliced open the visiting defense on several occasions.
Frustrations were reaching boiling point and Ricci Campbell became the
first unlucky Dragon to recieve a harsh Yellow Card with a shot interpreted as descent. A welcome half time whistle arrived giving Head Coach Dragan Jenic the opportunity to apply cooling words of wisdom and the need to remain patient and take our chances when they came. Clearly listening more intentley than most, his words were taken to the letter as less than a minute into the restart, Right Back Ed Horton screamed forward in support of a freekick to guide the ball home at the back post to put Kensington firmly in the driving seat and set up what seemingly appeared would be a comfortable afternoon for the home side. This belief was short lived however as Ricci suffered once again from a late challenge in midfield and the resulting altercation saw him pick up his second card and the subsequent red leaving the unnerving prospect of playing the remaining 40 minutes a very talented man down.
Dragan reshuffled his team to a solid 4--3--1 formation and every player
battled and scrapped their way through a 2nd half of few chances save a harsh penalty against, which Hanworth duly accepted.

A resolute Dragons managed to see the game through to 3-1 and the second win of what promises to be a successful and exciting campaign. Well done to all for a well disciplined and comprehensive 1st half and a well fought mature 2nd.

Adults Reserve side Match Report:

They came they saw but unfortunately they did not conquer a strong
Brentham reserve side.  On a warm afternoon the Dragons took to the
field with a mixture of youth and experience ready to slay their foes
whom were a well established team competing at this level for some time.

With the referee not showing it was left to the Brentham manager to
officiate the first half and although the Dragons went in at the break
only a goal behind some of his decisions were puzzling to say the least.
The half time talk asked the Dragons for one big concerted push as they
played some very nice attractive football albeit in parts in the first
half.  Unfortunately they got off o the worst possible start conceding a
goal within the first 2 minutes of the half.  Instead of a spirited
comeback it became a procession on the Dragons goal and the defence and the goalkeeper were put under severe pressure for the entire second half resulting in a further 4 unanswered goals making the final score 8-2.

it would be nice to say the scoreline flattered the Dragons but in truth
they were well and truly beaten by a fitter and stronger side whom were not necessarily a better footballing side but there hunger and appetite left the Dragons beating a hasty retreat to reignite their flames in
preparation for next weeks game.
