> The U12's lost 1-3 to Celtic away in a good game marred by inappropriate
Celtic adult behaviour. The U12's gave Celtic an early own goal before
playing magnificently to equalise before half time. Back on the pitch it
looked like the Dragons were sure to win with a disciplined defence
backing up good passing moves, resulting in great shots at goal -
unfortunately the Celtic goal appears to be lower than the average and
the Dragons shots soared over the cross bar. Exasperated to see defeat
looming the Celtic crowd lost all sense of proportion and invaded the
pitch to spoil a good game. Understandably the Dragons lost
concentration and let in two goals.

The U12's lost 2-3 to Bessingby Park Rangers at St Marks. The Dragons
let in a soft goal in the first minutes but pulled back to 1-1 at half
time. Again the Dragons gave away a soft goal and again the Dragons
fought back to 2-2. Bessingby finally scored a proper goal and then
desperately defended their lead as the Dragons peppered their goal but
alas to no avail.

> The U12's lost 0-10 to title contenders Greenford Celtic at St Marks in
a closer game than mere goal statistics would indicate. After 25 minutes
it was evenly matched at 0-0 before Celtic scored and then scored again
without anybody actually noticing - except the Dragons linesman who
sportingly pointed out that the Dragon goalie was standing behind his
goal line as he saved the shot - possibly not the best demonstration of
positional play. The Dragons lost concentration and let in more goals
than planned. As the U14 Dragons manager is memorably quoted as saying: "We all need a low point in the season to gauge the magnitude of the
high points"

> The U12's beat Ruislip Town 3-1 at St Marks in a fast and furious game.
In a gesture of sportsmanship the Dragons offered both linesman's flags
to Ruislip. The Dragons went 1-0 up within minutes but conceded a goal
to be 1-1 at half time. A finely judged half time talk saw the Dragons
gradually overcome Ruislip and slot in two well earnt goals. Another
welcome win

> The U12's lost 2-7 away to the mighty machine known as Greenford Celtic
who have scored over 70 goals this season whilst letting in only 4. It
was always going to be a difficult game. The new Dragons team faced up
well to the challenge
and scored two glorious goals but, despite
magnificent goal keeping, let a few more in. The Dragons are coming of
age and it will not be many seasons before the are beating the likes of
Celtic.

>The U12's drew 2-2 with LNER at St Marks. The Dragons got off to a
tremendous start and scored within seconds. LNER plugged away and drew
level before the Dragons pulled ahead to 2-1 at half time. Back on the
pitch the Dragons dug deep and held LNER at bay but could not get the
third goal. Alas as the final whistle grew closer the Dragons lowered
their guard and the ruthless LNER pounced in the final minutes to score
a lucky equaliser.

The U12 lost 0-1 away to Acton Ealing Whistlers. The Dragons
started
slowly. Unfortunately Acton saw their chance and took advantage of the
Dragons rather relaxed approach and scored
within minutes of make it
0-1. The Dragons gradually woke up but temporarily forgot the importance
of passing and moving into space
for the next pass. Individual Dragons
players charged up the pitch
with great displays of individual
virtuosity but games are won by
team work. Acton could not score again
but alas neither could the Dragons who went down to a narrow defeat.

> The U12's lost 0-8 to St Joseph's away in a game held on a mud bath and
officiated by a St Joseph's player ref.
The huge St Joseph's
players
strode through the mud as the smaller Dragons squelched
and waded
through the
mud trying to play football. On the many occasions that the
Dragons managed to squelch their way, hauling
the ball
through the mud
with them, to the St Joseph's goalmouth
the ever vigilant linesman
flagged vigorously for offside.
A trying day which left the Dragons
surprisingly cheerful and
looking forward to the next game.

> The U12's beat Acton Ealing Whistlers 4-1 at St Marks Park. The Dragons
were soon 1-0 up before conceding a silly
free kick to level
the score.
Back after the break the Dragons lengthened their stride
and
increasingly demonstrated
their sharpness to power ahead to
4-1 at the
final whistle. A great start to 2008.

> The U12's lost 1-7 to an experienced St Josephs at St Marks.
The Dragons
showed great spirit in adversity and kept
going
throughout the game but
gradually tired as the St Josephs giants
broke through for a clutch of
goals. The
Dragons refused to go
down without a fight and ran their
heats out to score a magnificent
goal in the dying minutes.

> The U12's won 3 points after the list of Kodak players ringing in sick
reached such proportions that they had to default.
One wonders whether
the recent sterling performances of the Dragons is beginning to sap the
confidence of their
rivals.

> The U12's beat league would be leaders Celtic 2-0 at Birbeck in a
magnificent game. Celtic took the field the hot favorites
but could not
score - neither could the Dragons. At half time it was 0-0. The crowd
huddled together in the "brisk"
conditions enthralled as the action
unfurled. Finally the Dragons scored and then did so again. Celtic
fought back bravely
and pulled back to 2-1 but time was up.
Another
great U12 victory.

> The U12's beat LNER 4-3 away in a cliffhanger. The Dragons
started
fantastically and were 3-0 up before LNER scored
a minute
from half
time. At the restart LNER made the best of the slope and
pulled back to
3-2, the Dragons responded before LNER scored yet again. The tension
mounted as the diminutive U12's scurried around
the huge pitch like ants
chasing a tennis ball desperate to stop LNER scoring. Finally salvation
came with the final whistle. Never had the
shrill tones sounded so
sweet. A Win!

> The U12's lost 2-5 away to Wealdstone. The Dragons found
the conditions
wet and squelchy as the wind howled
across the Wealdstone stadium. After
10 mins Wealdstone scored and then
very quickly scored another 2. The
Dragons dug in and pulled one
back before the break. Back out on the
mudflats Wealdstone
eventually scored twice.
The Dragons fought to the
end and
scored their second well deserved goal in the final minute. As
the
new U12's get to
grips with competitive league football it will
interesting to see which of the players mature and develop into
battle
hardened match winners.

> The U12's beat Ruislip Town 3-2 away in a thrilling contest to
match
England's rugby win. Ruislip opened the scoring
and showed every sign of
powering their way to a win on their home ground.
The Dragons dug in,
pulled back and
then scored again after the
break to make it 2-1.
Ruislip equalised. The intensity rose. Ten
minutes from the end the
Dragons were awarded a free kick. The
Jonny Wilkinson of the U12's
strode up, the crowd held their breath
as the ball curled over the wall
into the top left hand corner of the
Ruislip net. Grown men cried. The
Dragons held on through a lengthening second half until the home ref
reluctantly blew the whistle. The Dragons had won!

> The U12's were beaten 0-6 away by Premiership Harrow St Mary's
in the
League Cup. This was a difficult game so
early in the new
team's career.
Such games are however an essential part of
growing in maturity as a
player - after
all what great sportsman has
not been at the receiving
end of a drubbing in their career?

> The new U12's lost 1-5 to Bessingby Park away in a good natured game.
The Dragons came face to face with reality in competitive
league
football and were 0-3 down within 10 minutes. At half time it
was 0-4.
The massed fans asked themselves "Can the new Dragons cope?". Cope they
did. Changes were made and the Dragons
pulverised Bessingby to
eventually score a magnificent goal whilst having numerous goals
disallowed by a referee who considered that
he had a better view than
the lines man who firmly kept his flag down.

> The new U12's drew 3-3 with Kodak at our temporary Boston Manor ground.
With St Marks temporarily out of action our new Dragonettes
set off to
the wilds of Boston Manor to play the hugely experienced Kodak. Within
10 minutes the Dragons were 3-0 up. Kodak were bemused; the Dragon
massed fans apoplectic with joy. At half time it was still 3-2. Minutes
from the end the Dragon Goalkeeper rushed
out to the ball and collided
with a Kodak attacker. The referee
curiously awarded Kodak a penalty
which lead to the eventual score
of 3-3. A great start.
