> The U14's lost 1-3 in the last 5 mins of extra time to league leaders FC
Roundwood at St Marks in the Supplementary Cup. The Dragons scored first
with a lobbed ball over the keeper only to have it disallowed by the Ref
who was not on form for this crucial game. The frustration of the
Dragons was heard resounding across North Kensington. Roundwood scored
just before half time against the run of play.
The Dragons took on
gallons of water and went out to overcome the Roundwood giants. The
Dragon breakthrough came with beautiful work off a corner. The winner
nearly followed from another corner but the ref blew for full time. It
was onto extra time. The next goal would have sealed the match and
unfortunately it was not a Dragon goal. The boys gave it everything and
did all to win. The amassed crowds applauded the spectacular conclusion
to a tough football season.

> The U14's lost 1-5 to Lyndhurst at St Marks on Sunday. The U14's were
simply exhausted after a run of daily successive games the week before
and could not summon up their competitive spirit.

The U14's drew 2-2 and then beat Pinner Albion 7-1 in a double header at
St Marks on Sunday. Management had to work hard, greasing the path to St
Marks to get a good squad turn out again for this much awaited
doubleheader. Sleep was the crippling factor again as the U14's gifted
Pinner an early goal whilst they dreamed over their cornflakes. The
Dragons
played the better attacking football but missed a series of dead
sitters, it could have been 5 -1 at half time.
The goals came in the
second half to deflate Pinner but the Dragon winner would not go in the
net leaving the final score at 2 - 2. A quick turn around saw the Dragons score early and get in their
comfortable stride with clever passing football leaving
it 3- 0 at half
time. Tactical changes were made and great performances unleashed from
several players to go on to win 7-1. The low point of the season has
been well and truly buried.

The U14's beat Haringey Boro 5-2 on Saturday morning in the rapidly
arranged Supplementary Cup match. Despite being taken by surprise by the
fixture the Dragons were eager to play football following several Sunday
mornings in bed. The unaccustomed early morning start however lead to a
certain initial slothfulness and the Dragons found themselves defending
a one goal lead by Boro. The Dragons finally woke up, got into their
stride when 2-1 down and fought back to
win convincingly 5- 2. The U14's
look forward to meeting Greenford Celtic in the next round.

The U14's lost 2-5 to League winners Roundwood giants at Birbeck. The
Dragons started well, floundered in the middle and then finished with a
flourish. It did not help that a Dragons defender was stretchered off
the pitch by a dastardly Roundwood tackle resulting in a red card and a
penalty that the Dragons missed.

> The U14's beat Parkfield 7-4 at St Marks following weeks without a game.
The rather stiff U14's sized up against Parkfield for their first match
of the season at St Marks - a welcome return to the hallowed DEN. Lack
of match awareness showed but eventually the Dragons found their quick
passing skills and put two away before half time. The 2nd half saw
Dragon mistakes give away easy goals. By rolling subs and changing
tactics, the Dragons opened up their game and dominated the second half
with quick goals in succession to win 7 - 3.
A good win to build on for
the remaining season

> The U14's lost 1-7 against Pitshanger. The Dragons elected to play
against the strong wind in the first half and were unlucky to be three
goals down at half time. On the turn around the Dragons started the
better team but missed several dead sitters and seemed to be sapped of
energy when the Pitshanger ref awarded his side a penalty. Creative
substitutions with a depleted side could not shore up the dyke and with
the loss of our goal keeper at half time it was never going to be
pretty. "We all need a low point in the season to gauge the magnitude of
the high points" the management was creatively quoted to have said after
the match.

> The U14's beat Hillingdon Borough 2-1 on a well prepared Birkbeck pitch.
Both sides took time to settle with the Dragons being slower off the
mark. Boro pressured first but the re-knowned Dragon's defense held,
including a marvelous header off the goal line. The Dragons reversed the
pressure and the left back popped one in over the keeper from halfway.
The 2nd half favoured Boro at first and following a long throw, and
several rebounds, they scored to level. The Dragons
created many scoring
opportunities but could not put the ball into the
net with the Boro
keeper having a particularly good game. The
Dragons switched the attack
and midfield and suddenly the space
was there and the second and winning
goal was put away. A
great team performance in a good competitive
spirited game.

started
slowly and were 0-2 down at halftime. Back on
the pitch
The Dragons
roared back to 2-2 before forging ahead to 3-2 before Lyndhurst pulled
back to level the score
at 3-3. Finally the Dragons
got into top gear
and went on to dominate with a passionate last
quarter and win 5-3. A
great start to 2008.

> The Ul4's beat Park field Youth 6 - 2 away at their Hatch End
stadium
amid good friendly sideline festive season banter. The
Dragon defense
was near full strength keeping the opposition out.
The real action came
from quick balls from the Dragons keeper to
the wings where the speed
and hunger to score put the Dragons 3
up at half time.
A little lapse in
concentration, and a big effort by Parkfield, allowed
them back into the
game to 2 - 4. The Dragons switched back on
again and two defenders
decided that they would score the
winners which they proceeded to do
with two powerful decisive
goals. All the Dragons played in a good
spirited game well refereed
by League Ref Quintin Fox. It was time
for
the U14's to hang up
their boots and stockings for a well earned
Christmas break.

> The U14's were robbed 0-1 away by FC Roundwood. The Dragons, reduced to
a mere 11 players on this wet and
windy Sunday, played with great
passion in the squelchy mud. It was still 0-0 as the seconds counted
down to the
final whistle. Roundwood were awarded a
corner. They
proceeded to kick the ball out of play by a mile only for
the
wind to
blow it back into play and score with the referee
studiously ignoring
the linesman's flag.

> The U14's lost 2-9 away to Premiership team Belmont United in the
League Cup. The Dragons went into the game with
a decimated defense due
to injury but started well. After 10 minutes the Dragons blinked and
when they opened their
eyes again they were 1-7 down. The second half
was much better with the Dragons scoring 1 goal to Belmont's 2.
It is
back to the all important league.

> The U14's were knocked out of the Middx Cup in the 3rd round
losing to
Brimstone Rovers 2-3 at Birbeck. Injury and illness had left
the Dragons
depleted. Still the confident Dragons took on the visitors
in good style
and it was 0-0 at half time.
With some strategic repositioning, the 2nd
half started with a completely different tempo
and bang... the Dragons
scored followed by an Arsenal type
celebration by the corner flag. The
Brimstone supporters raised their voices but the Dragons roared back....
and bang came the second
goal. Brimstone were rattled and it was tense
along the side line as
they were able to up a gear whilst the Dragons
dreamed about lifting
a trophy. Brimstone came back to equalize and the
tiring Dragons
could not keep out their winner.

> The U14's drew 3-3 with Greenford Celtic at Birbeck. Greenford started
the game determined to win and were 2-0 up
at half time
against a
Dragons side still basking in the complacent glory of last week's win.
Changes were made and
sinews stiffened before the Dragons went back onto
the field of play determined not to lose. Greenford scored again and the
Dragons were staring defeat in the face. It was time to dig deep. As the
Dragons clawed their way back
to 3-3 Greenford's discipline crumbled and
their occasional good manners disintegrated.

> The U14's beat league leaders Greenford Celtic 5-1 away under the expert
reffing of a HYFL institution. Back from
illness and injury, the Dragons
fielded a strong side bursting with confidence. The Dragons captain
bravely decided
to play up hill in the first half and it was even
stephens for 15 mins until the Dragons midfield decided it was time to
make the move which resulted in a goal just before half time. Playing
up
hill had slowed the Dragons so fresh legs
were put on to restart. Celtic
came out the better team and with a searing run from midfield leveled
the score. Their
elation was short lived however as the
Dragons picked
up the pace and with some outstanding passing
and
controlling scored and
scored again to take the game beyond Celtic's reach. A magnificent
result.

> The U14's lost 1-4 to Isledon Wolves at Birbeck on a beautiful
sunny
afternoon. There was disbelief in the Dragon
camp at the
size of Iseldon
players ...surely some mistake in the fixture!! When queried the Iseldon
manager produced
a letter from the Isledon
Chairman confirming the
Iseldon players were not in fact 22 years
old. A incontrivertable piece
of evidence. Iseldon scored within
minutes whilst the Dragon right
winger lay hacked down on the
pitch as play
continued in confusion for
them to score an
undeserved goal. Two goals followed in the first half
as the
Dragons
found it hard to make headway and lift their heads
against
the Isledon giants. The second half was a different story
as the
lighter, meaner and keener Dragons got back into their game
demonstrating dazzling talent from veterans and
new boys alike.
The one
Dragon goal did not give credit as countless shots squeezed past the
Isledon post or just over
the bar. The Dragons keeper was superb at
holding Wolves back and saved a great penalty to boost
the young Dragons
in their attack. A spirited Dragon come back
needed the might of the
English front row on this occasion.

4-4 Draw against Hampstead.
> U14's drew 4 - 4 with Hampstead away in Crouch End in a tense
hard
fought match on a great pitch. The Dragons
were down three
key players
and had to rely on strategy. Soon the Dragons were 2 goals down but
then pulled
back to lead 3:2 at half time. With a
depleted squad the
Dragons had to conserve energy but we went
on to score
another to make
it 4-2. The Hampstead ref then increased his use of the offside rule
hampering the Dragons whilst Hampstead
got one back. It was end to end
football with many off sides flagged
on both sides and in the dying mins
Hampstead scored...with the ref seemingly unaware that the flag was up
for off side and that the
"Hand of God"
played its part in the goal.

>The U14's beat Pitshanger 3-2 at Boston Manor. The Dragons started off
scrappily missing their injured veteran defenders. Pitshanger
relentlessly pounced on the Dragons and ruthlessly took advantage of
a
below strength Dragons defence. The score reached a tantalising
2-2 with
both sides straining to get the magic goal. The Dragons prevailed and
then desperately defended to hold on to the lead and
a win.

>The U14's beat Hillingdon Borough 3-0 away. The Dragons policy of mixing
new signings with tried and tested veterans worked to great effect with
the Dragons being up 2-0 at half time. The Dragons continued bombarding
the Hillingdon goal but a number of superb
saves kept the eventual score
down to 3-0. A tremendous start to
the season. Even at this early stage
one can scent success
