> The U17's beat Brookhouse 1-0 on Sunday at St Marks in a tough physical
game which had produced no goals at half time. Back on the pitch the
Dragons showed their mettle and grafted away despite all provocation to
be awarded a penalty which they duly converted to secure a hard fought
Dragon win. The U17's have triumphantly regrouped since Christmas and
can hardly remember what it is like to lose - except when they play the
Dragon U16's of course.

The U17's lost 1-4 to Harrow St Mary at St Marks. The Dragons scored
first and but for some unlucky breaks and questionable decisions should
have clung on to their slender lead. Harrow took their opportunities
where they could and
felt lucky to win by such a margin

> The U17's lost 1-2 at Birbeck to league leaders Bessingby Park in a well
refereed game. The Dragons have been rapidly rebuilding since a low
point at Christmas and were 0-0 at half time. Bessingby pulled ahead 0-2
in the second half but could not subdue the Dragons who scored and then
looked like scoring again only to be denied the vital second gaol by a
combination of great saves, hitting the post, etc etc. A good game.

> The U17's beat FC Kensington North 4-1 in a friendly at St Marks where
the result was less important than the opportunity to try out new
players. The Dragons were 4-0 up at half time but had difficulty in
scoring in the second half. FCKensington tried hard throughout the match
and were rewarded with a fine goal two minutes from the end. A good
natured game enjoyed by all.

> The U17's lost 1-4 away to Brookhouse under curious circumstances. On
arrival the Dragons Manager was whisked aside by his counterpart and
told that "Brookhouse was under investigation" and that the appointed
referee, Keith Chamberlin, was unavailable at short notice. "Luckily"
Brookhouse had "found" a ref - drama was clearly scheduled. Brookhouse
went 0-2 up before the Dragons started to dominate, pulling back to 2-1
before scoring again to make it 2-2 except that the Referee announced
that the "ball had not gone over the line" before pressing on in quick
succession to give Brookhouse a penalty at the other end. It was clear
that the script had been written with Brookhouse winning 1-4 which they
duly went
on to do.

> The U17's lost 2-6 against Pitshanger at Birbeck where the Dragons
displayed the courtesy of sharing the refereeing duties. The Dragons
took time to knuckle down and found themselves 0-3 down at half time.
The second half was better with the Dragons scoring twice to
Pitshanger's 3.

> The U17's lost 0-3 to St Lawrence at St Marks in a well refereed game.
The Dragons entered the pitch rusty from
too little football over the
last few weeks. At half time it was 0-0 but as the second half
progressed St Lawrence
pounced on lapses of concentration and scored to
in. The Dragons can take heart from the first half.

> The U16's just beat the U17's 4-3 in a friendly at St Marks where
the
score was less important than the opportunity to
run off the cobwebs.
The U16's mostly dominated the game until the last 15
minutes when the
good spirit and resilience
of the U17's lead them
to pull back.

> The U17's won 4-2 at Birbeck against Headstone Manor in a generally well
ordered game. The touch of excitement between opposing players was
damped down by firm but friendly referring. The Dragons dominated the
first half and
retired to the pavilion 4-1 up. Headstone provided
sterner opposition after the break but could only pull one goal back.
A
convincing Dragons win.

> The U17's lost 2-4 to Pinner Albion in the League Cup at Birbeck.
Many
thought that the Dragons would make it through
to the
semifinals but
luck was with Pinner as the Dragons missed
opportunities including a
penalty. It is back to the
league.

> The U17's beat Pitshanger 3-2 away under a good ref on a superb ground.
The Dragons stumbled at the start and were
0-1 down
before pulling back
to 1-1 at half time. The Dragons lead increased to
2-1 before Pitshanger
pulled back to 2-2 whereupon the Dragons powered the crucial winning
goal into the back of the Pitshanger net.
A good natured
competitive
game refereed well. The U17's are on
their way to be a superb team.

> The U17's beat Headstone Manor 4-3 away with the Headstone
Coach
officiating loudly and vigorously. The Dragons
kept one step ahead
throughout the match. At half time the Dragons were 2-1 up before
Headstone pulled back after
the break to make it 2-2. The Dragons
powered ahead to make it 4-3 before letting in a silly goal
just at the
end. A
fairly unpleasant game which had the saving
grace of returning a
win for the impeccably mannered Dragons

> The U17's beat Northolt Rangers 3-2 away under the auspices of
a
Northolt ref. The Dragons were 1-2 down at
half time but kept on
plugging away in the second half to score twice to gain a well
deserved
victory. The future looks
bright for the Dragon U17's.

> The U17's lost 1-6 away to Bessingby Park in a well reffed
game against
a very good side. Bessingby were up 3-0
at the half.
The Dragons pulled
one back in the second half but alas Bessingby scored another 3. Seven
minutes from
the end the brave Dragons goalkeeper jumped up for a ball
and in the resulting collision was accidently injured and
the game was
drawn to a halt. The goalie
was taken to hospital as a precaution where
the injury was judged
to be
not serious. We wish him a speedy recovery.

> The U17's lost 1-3 away to Parkfield with a home ref who
confessed to
this being "his first time". Parkfield were 0-1
up at the
half and then
back on the pitch piled on another two. The Dragons regrouped, scored
and then proceeeded
to remourcesessly
attack Parkfield's goal but, alas,
to no avail. The ever vigilant
Parkfield linesman was quick to spot
various misdemeanours
effectively blunting the Dragon moves. An
experience possibly not
to be savoured.

> The U17's were beaten 2-6 by Premiership Springfield in the League Cup.
The match was played on a superb ground
with an experienced referee
officiating. The Dragons found it difficult to breach the well
disciplined Springfied defence.
It is never pleasant to lose but
Springfield were on this occasion the better side and the Dragons at
least had the
satisfaction of wearing their new kit for the first time.

> The U17's lost to FC Kensington at Wormwood Scrubs. At half time the
Dragons were staring an uncomfortable disaster in the face being 1-4
down. To put it bluntly the first half was a shambles. The Dragons are
nothing if not resilient however and they dominated the second half to
pull back to 3-4. If the game had carried on another 10 mins an
objective observer would have opined that the Dragons would win
16.09.2007 Result
> The U17's lost 4-5 to Pinner Albion at Boston Manor in a generally good
natured fluctuating game which enthralled the crowd. Pinner opened the
scoring; the Dragons responded - and so it went on. Ever time Pinner
scored the Dragons responded with a goal. The only flaw with this
approach is that Pinner lead the way so that when the final whistle blew
the Dragons had narrowly lost.
